Spring Craft Fair

I've been invited to apply for a spot at a BIG craft fair in May. Despite my humble successes at the Christmas shows I attended, I had fun and would love to do it again. This, show, however, has so many hurtles to jump over:
*New baby means limited time to stockpile pieces.
*Limited financial resources means less money available to decorate and organize an appealing booth. My newest items would need shelving and fancy lighting etc.
*The booth costs $125!!! Ouch. I would need to sell a few of my lanterns. Or a bunch of my smaller items.

Think. Think. Think.
Craft.Craft.Craft.

I have until April to decide...

ETSY Favourites: Pottery Mugs

I have a soft spot for pottery. Especially mugs. My parents received a set of four pottery mugs for their wedding 30 years ago. They still have a couple of them, and I grab for those mugs everytime they offer me coffee.

"Daisy Detail" Stamp

Just for fun, I carved up the tiniest little stamp for myself. It's about the width of a pencil. Soooo adorably tiny. And, yes, I'm actually keeping this one. I make lots of lists, so I thought I'd make a stamp I could use to pretty-up your traditional "bullet mark." It also frames scrapbook titles well:

Winter Tulips

I just shipped out an order for a Pair of Tulips. It was a treat to work on something that has been lying fallow for awhile.

Inspiration in Books: "Magic Lanterns" by Mary Maguire

Rarely do you find a craft book with a couple of projects you will ACTUALLY carry out. This one is a treasure trove of beautiful, and totally do-able, projects. Several of which I have already completed successfully. I worked on the "Goblin Night Light," awhile back, adding a bunch of underground detail. See it HERE.

I have a bag full of miniature replicas of these:
They are lovely, and will fit onto a strand of mini white lights someday. I have many more to complete before then.

Our pumpkin two years ago was inspired by this image:
I don't have the tools yet to do make "Punched Tin Lanterns," but oh how I want to! At this point in my life, however, with four children under the age of six, I am not comfortable working with such dangerously sharp materials at this point in my life. So, later days:

I finished this beauty last year. It turned out so well. See it HERE.
A book definitely worth purchasing. I haven't yet, but my library card is getting worn from the number of times I've taken this one out.

Alphabet Letters: "Flowers & Dragonflies"

Someday: Collage Ambitions

I have big plans to start the most ambitious project yet: a mixed media collage. The canvas: to wooden cabinet doors. The vision: flowers and castles and my usual whimsical elements. I'm in the hunt and gather stage. I need inspiration. Here's some. . .
