"Travels in Austria" Lantern

In the Works: "Travels in Austria" Lantern

My latest lantern was requested by a woman who wanted to capture her travels in Austria. The two buildings she wants me to incorporate are the "Gloriette," found in Vienna. And...

...Vienna City Hall.Some other requests: rolling hills, snow-capped mountains and a couple-- the woman carrying a guitar. I should have it completed in a few days.

::"Molly Whuppie" LANTERN::

Such a quirky tale. One of the darker fairy tales coming out of Scotland, left unedited by time. There's a nasty giant, a brave girl, and a prince to marry. . . I was asked to recreate two scenes for this lantern. The first: Molly fleeing from the giant across the "one-hair bridge." The second: Molly peeking at the giant's castle from the cover of the trees. I found this a challenging lantern for two reasons: 1. I am not very adept at sketching people. 2. I was asked to make Molly's cape RED. That is not easy to do while trying to maintain a bold silhouette. So, the final result is not perfect, but I think it captures the tale.
